Bonds backed by a pledge of the University of Massachusetts will be offered through its Building Authority to individual investors on March 6, 2013*. This sale gives individual investors priority access to buy the Bonds. Interest on the Senior Series 2013-1 Bonds are exempt from federal and Massachusetts personal income taxes**. The Bonds will finance new buildings, renovations and capital improvements throughout the UMass system and provide individuals with the opportunity to invest in a premier public research university which educates more than 70,000 students at its five campuses.
